Thought experiment concerning cloning and the selfish gene

  1. Dec 6, 2008 #1
I just watched "Nice guys finish first" and in it Dawkins says that it makes sense for a bee to give it's life for another, since they are protecting their gene pool.

What should happen if we clone a group of animals and make only one of them capable to reproduce? Will the others try to protect the one capable in order to keep their genes going? Although there are more affecting factors with sentient beings within established societies, but what should happen when we apply this to humans? Cloning would be banned after the first group of cloned humans were completed.
