Tongue extends 18cm find accelaration

  1. Oct 5, 2008 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    When a chameleon captures an insect, its tongue extends 18 cm in 0.10 s.

    (a) Find the acceleration of the chameleon's tongue, assuming it to be constant.
    m/s2
    (b) Let Δx be the amount that the chameleon's tongue moves during the first 0.050 s. Compare Δx with 9 cm.
    pick one
    1 Δx < 9 cm
    2 Δx > 9 cm

    Support your conclusion with a calculation.
    Δx = ? cm

    My answers were wrong how? why? what equation am I suppose to use?

    .18/.1=1.8m/s

    a=deltaV
    detaT
    This was wrong
