Torque on a shaft

  1. Apr 5, 2015 #1
    What is the torque on a shaft when applying a load of 1000 kgs. through winch lifting at a speed of 35 meters per minute wire speed. What should be the H.P of an electric motor if it runs the winch. The motor rpm is 980. Gear box speed ratio is 70:1.

    PF expects users to put in some effort, check out the forum rules.

    Are you familiar with T =Fr ?
    Or an answer can be had more directly via:
    P=Fv
