Two transformers in series

  1. Jan 19, 2012 #1
Along the same lines of connecting two transformer in series, Suppose the first transformer is a neon transformer with an output of 15KV, and the second transformer is a home-built built to handle 15KV on the input, and 15MV output. The problem remains, how do you couple a high impedance secondary to a low impedance primary of the second transformer for maximum power transfer?

    Re: transformers in series

Hang on a minute chaps. Until you connect a load resistor to the secondary of the second transformer, what can you say about resistances? Without a load, it'll be more a matter of Reactances due to winding inductance and no one has specified that.
