ß ∂ ∆ µ π ∏ ∑ Ω … √ ∫ ≤ ≥ ≠ ± # I have a Mac, and I have been typing symbols like the above by using the alt key, and wondering why other people don't use the alt key. As a result of an in-thread discussion with mkbh_10, and of looking at wikipedia, it now seems that PC keyboards simply don't work that way. (Why?? Macs have always done so. ) It's a nuisance to have to type sqrt and pi, in particular, and even more of a nuisance to have to read them! Or to have to go into LaTeX where a Mac can type ∫. And µ can be used instead of theta. (a) Does anyone know how to type symbols such as the above on a PC? (b) If it's not possible on a PC, could they be incorporated into the standard Reply page so that people can simply copy-and-paste them? They wouldn't need buttons, they could just be ordinary type.
