Everytime I plug something in to my laptop USB port it tells me "This device can perform faster". Is that something I can do without replacing any hardware?

Nevermind. A quick Google shows me that lots'o people are having the same problem with their aging PCs. The solution is to disable USB messages in Device Manager.
