What does "valence band mixing" means?

Could you provide me some reference about it?

To throw out a guess, I'd say that it's the mixing of different materials that have different valance band energy levels. But that's just a guess.

valence band mixing refers to the situation that the energy states of electrons in the valence band is not purely heavy hole, light hole or split-off, but a possible superposition of those three.
