Vapor Pressure

  1. Jan 21, 2006 #1
Will increasing the amount of liquid in a closed container cause the vapor pressure of the liquid to increase, decrease or remain the same, why ?

If you increase the amount of the liquid, then the vapor pressure will stay the same. This is because it's in dynamic equilibrium (the rate of vaporization equals the rate of condensation). Vapor pressure only depends on temperature.
