Vertical force physics

  1. Jun 6, 2004 #1
A 160 kg horizontal beam is supported at each end. A 300 kg piano rests a quarter of the way from one end.
What is the vertical force on the support closest to the piano?

How do i do this??????

    conditions for equilibrium

    Consider that for equilibrium:
    (a) Net force must be zero
    (b) Net torque about any point must be zero
