Virtual Desktops

  1. Aug 4, 2010 #1
    Hi,

I don't know how many of you have played around with virtual desktops either in Linux or Windows environments. I realize that most virtual desktop software for Windows displays only one desktop on the monitor at a time.

I am wondering whether or not it's possible to get one or multiple virtual desktops within a main desktop, so I can see both desktops at the same time. Kind of like Picture in Picture mode on TVs, except on a computer.

If so, is there a free software I can download? So far I am using VirtualWin.

    Thanks.

In Linux compiz, there is an option to view all desktops at once. Although they were zoomed out a little bit, but you could drag files, icons, or opened apps from one to another.

Thanks, but I'd like to do this in a Windows environment.
