We have a terrific set of photos for this contest, so it will be difficult.

The theme this week is on waterfalls (I should have specified that it is not "falling water", but its too late now). So please vote for the picture that best represents our theme.

    Sentimental favorite: glondor and Niagara.

Lived up there for almost 30 years before leaving and have taken my kids more than once just to get wet from the spray.

Had to go with larkspur - there were many good shots to choose from, but that one belongs in a travel brochure. Mine could go in a travel brochure too, if your intent is to keep people from visiting in the winter. ;-)

I also went with larkspur :) I usually like a series of waterfalls before just one big drop.

I went with Turbo's. That is something I will never see down here.

Ooh! Sympathy vote...thanks larkspur. It's the only kind of waterfall I could find at this time of year.

it's amazing you can see all the man made barriers, and as many as they had to put there to get Niagara Falls to flow over the ledge evenly to get that picutesque full as possible look to the water going over the edge. (glondor's photo--all those 'straight' white 'rapids' areas above the falls)

I thought robphy's was really cool. How do you get a shot like that?

    Thanks.
I opened the faucet slightly to get drops (but not a stream) to fall.
I put the digital camera on a tripod and set its timer to take a photo [with flash] periodically (I used the shortest available period: 30sec intervals). After about 10 attempts, I chose one for this contest. Think of it as my crude attempt at emulate photography like Doc Edgerton's http://mit.edu/6.933/www/Fall2000/edgerton/www/prewar.html and http://docedgertonvideo.techtv.mit.edu/file/471/

I'm going for Turbo. Mainly because I've never seen one frozen over like that. It looks pretty neat.

I went with Andre's because I enjoy the sensation of it. But I have to say I was really impressed with Robphy's image.

And, they were all gorgeous shots.

Wow, Niagara Falls looks just the same as it did when I was a kid and visited (I should go back again). Definitely a bit of nostalgia there, but I liked Andre's best. I love that perspective of being behind the falls.

You have barely a day left to vote in this contest. As has happened before, larkspur is trying to run away from the rest of the pack. Can Andre catch her during the last 24 hours of voting?
