Homework Help: What is the accepted range ?

  1. Jan 11, 2009 #1
    What is the "accepted range"?

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

Were your values within an acceptable range? If not, find reasons for the discrepancy.

    2. Relevant equations

    ( |Accepted value - experimental value| ) / accepted value

Absolute value of accepted value-experimental value over accepted value

    3. The attempt at a solution

I'm not sure, I just don't know what the accepted range is.

The accepted range is different for each experiment. At times it is subjective. You are probably being asked for a subjective evaluation of your accuracy. Could you improve your results in some way. Was your result the best that could be expected given your equipment and skill?
