What is the colour of 2008?

  1. Dec 21, 2007 #1
Weird that they're announcing this colour at the beginning of 2008, seems like the 2008 award is a year early. maybe it's so everyone can go out & paint their house this colour.

    refined:
    Blue Iris
(color="#29147a" my best approximation... by doing an average over a part of the swatch.)

    Black and Blue Iris

My wife bought me a shirt of blue iris for Hanukkah. You can always depend on her to be at the heighth of fashion and that pretty much means I am too. But after I meditated over it for a length of time I decided I didn't like it and I wasn't going to wear it. As you can well imagine, although I felt strongly about it, this decision was made in haste and in error. As a result, I have been doing a lot a soul-searching lately. Especially on account of a purple cast here and there about my noggin. There might be magic in her touch, but I think she has an anchor hidden in that velvet glove. The end result is that I am now an emotional wreck. I hope 2009 is Fire Engine Red. Maybe she'll finally get me that Lamborghini I've always wanted.

It is well known that blue is an emotional color. Picasso anyone?

Blue usually is associated with melancholy and contemplation.

Why does 2007 remind me of orange? 2008 makes me think of a dark blue... I guess that's close enough. 2006 makes me think dark green. 2005 is red, 2004 yellow, 2003 and under dont make me think of any color.

Blue is supposed to be calming. Growing up everything I owned was blue. My mother even had my mattress and boxsprings custom made for me in a blue material I chose. Looking back, I now realize that seems a bit odd, but the furniture store where we shopped made custom furniture.

Hmmm, doesn't sound like 2007 to me. Maybe it was orange for you. Of course you are a fire-breathing moose.

I hope 2008 is blue, I could use a calm year.

I didnt really mean the year that the number represented, just the number itself seemed like that color.

The Luscher color test is fun, I first ran across it when I was 14.

    This are my results:

That first part used to be me, lately my temper has been shortend by a series of accidents and ailments. You try moving a TV set with one hand!

My first part was the same as yours, but yet that's not me AT ALL. Also, the second part said "Try Again"

"Almost unable to bear being subjected to conventional regularities and routine activity. Considers routine activity and steady perseverance to be suffocating because they interfere with appetite for unhampered freedom to experience life. Wants to break away from situational constraints and wherever possible to circumvent obstacles or opposition standing in the way."

"Desirous of protecting self from disturbing or unsettling conflicts with anyone who is close or important as a partner. Has an urgent need to be freed from such difficulties. Longs for an uncomplicated peaceful relationship to persons who are important as partners. Desires a carefree, light-hearted relationship which does not lead to painful conflicts."

    not too bad

"Hungers for intensity in life and welcomes opportunity to take on challenges and experience them with intense vitality. Is open-minded, active, and full of initiative. Expects others to share interests and join in enthusiastically. Lets nothing get in the way of or restrict interests and activities. Also pays little heed to conventional prejudices or the timidity and lack of magnanimity of others.

Wants to be totally immersed with intense enthusiasm and engaged communion in the beloved or a personal task and activity. Finds the beloved or a personal task to be what makes life worthwhile and its dominating force, bringing true contentment and fulfillment. But the expectation is that the partner will also bring unconditional and undivided attentiveness to the relationship. That is seen as an important prerequisite to a dependable and secure relationship."
