What kind of energy transfomation takes place?

  1. Jul 23, 2010 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
Find the energy transformation that takes place in the processes below:
    a. Releasing the stretched bow
    b. Bending a steel wire using hand
    c. Fill the drinking glass with some water. moisten your finger and rub at the rim of a glass
    d. Freeing a spring that connected to a mass
    e. A ruler attracts small pieces of paper after rubbed by dry cloth
    f. Pendulum hitting a small box
    g. Speaking into a microphone and the voice prints is shown in the oscilloscope

    2. Relevant equations

    3. The attempt at a solution
    a. potential to kinetic
    b. chemical (muscle) to kinetic (steel wire moves / changes shape)
    c. kinetic (finger movement) to heat (finger becomes dry and hot). Is there any connection to the water in the glass?
    d. potential to kinetic
    e. kinetic (rubbing) to electric
    f. potential to kinetic
    g. sound to electric

I am not very sure of my answer. Can someone check it? Thank you
