1. Do you check all the GD's thread?
2. Do you read all the replies if you'd want to reply to a thread?
3. What kind of threads do you like?
4. Who's your kind of PF'er?
5. What are the best hours in GD? I mean when GD is so active and your
favorite members are online?

1. I read the original post of every thread unless it's too long.
2. Most of time I just read short replies. But well that depends whose reply
is. For example I usually read Astronuc's posts.

3. Threads with new and creative ideas and funny threads.
4. A person who usually doesn't write a lot in every single post unless it
would be a serious issue or s/he has to.
5. 11AM

Need to give some examples? :uhh:

1. Most of them. Once in a while I skip one.
2. Yep, read all of the replies, even in the thread-killer thread.
3. I like the threads with lots of fun stories (like the current one on injuries), or very creatively funny posts, like zooby's contributions to the Stupid Quetion thread.
4. Not sure how to answer this one. I enjoy reading contributions of almost everyone, for a lot of different reasons.
5. Whenever there's a lot of activity; I check in a lot, whenever I have little bits of idle time here and there during the day, as well as while having my morning coffee. You guys are usually my dinner companions too, but I don't eat at regular times, so that doesn't help much, does it?

1. Not all, just the subjects that interest me, or that I think I can participate in without screwing it up.
2. I start with the first page... if the discussion is good, I read the next and so on... if it starts to go off topic, I skip to the last page... if there are more than 5 pages, I read the first, maybe the second... then skip to the last few comments to see where it's going... If I can't say anything new or add a perspective, I stay out of it.
3. I tend to like opinion polls, political threads, threads that pertain to life (advice) and funny stuff... there was this one with the cartoon physics... it was pretty funny.
4. I like reading perspectives from: The Smoking Man, SOS2008, Smurf, loseyourname, Skyhunter, russ_watters, Ian Seeking, moonbear is always fair and a few I can't remember right now. I find Heman important to the mix despite the clarity of his content, and having other insights from some other members who will remain nameless are also good too.
5. The best hours are whenever I have time to... I leave my computer on until it goes on standby... so it looks like I'm here but I'm probably not.

oh haha... no, i don't need to save my life here... i just want to spare the insults... if I name them... :tongue2: pf is really cool because everyone is actually trying to communicate on a high level and even though some of us end up fighting like kids, we serve up the mud trying to make valid points for our arguments... it's good fun... i feel almost obsessed with coming to check these threads... my wife was getting mad at me... and then I saw that thread about the guy who died from chasing threads... and I knew I had a problem

Ok I think you're new here and that's why you think you don't need to save your life here. :uhh: But you really need it. You're married? Ok it makes the job easier!

Start a new name? You didn't get what I mean. What do you want to do at home? Suppose one of the PF'er give wrong information to your wife about why you spend so much time in this site and I don't want to think what would happen to you after that :uhh: :uhh:

Ok, so all they need to do is, to make her believe it is interenet porn.

You mean I betray women? Impossible!

  • #17
i'm not asking you to betray... we are on PF... we are to share insight right?

Flirtation Alert!

:uhh: Really? But I'm afraid women around here to think I btray them. Yu knw I started "How much men and women know each other" so thet men and women would share their insights, but almost none of them shared any kind of important insights which help me.

   what his wife would think if she see your alert, arildno?

i. Yep, I read all the new threads in GD (althought rarliy comment!)
ii. It depends on the length of the thread, if it was started in the small hours and it is 3+ pages long then i normally can be @rsed.
iii. Funny ones, I loved the Moonbear attempt at killing thr thread killier champs threads and then the poor victimisation of Franzbear  . I also like things like Yummy receipys, things that have a practical purpose.
iv. My Fav PF`s Well Artman cracks me up, his caption comp ... captions are a hoot. As I`ve allready mentioned Moonbear in thread killing mode, Atronuc for his insite, Wolram and Brewnog (fellow brits *stands and salutes*), EVO :!) (look out smurf that wedding will never happen  ), Well to be honest i think all PF`ers are my kinda people since i keep coming back :approve: .
v. Not too sure about this one i think it varies, but since we all live in different time zones and there seem to be more people from across the pond, the later hours are best!

Are you sure about that? If I was married and my husband was ignoring me to spend time online, somehow I think I'd prefer if he was viewing porn rather than sites about physics. At least with porn, she might be able to join in and enhance the experience. :uhh:

I think it can be troublesome than real porn if your frame gets distracted!
if unobjectively you fell in love with any hottie here( :!) ),the story can change over time!

hmmm... I can see where you are going with this... (woops) there it goes  jk... you make a good point, i'll be sure to stay away from PF at least 30mins each day to spend with my wife

it appears that many people here have experience the reality of making a love connection on PF :tongue2: is there any truth to my conclusion?

do you mean that people meet here and get together but not married? or do you mean that married people don't meet people (for obvious reasons)?

Well both of them. But I think the second one is the one you need to know.

i like to use discretion as often as possible... i don't think my wife is the type to spy... she likes to sleep when she's not working... and we spend our time off together a lot... but regardless... I'm on pf to "hang around" people who care about what is happening in the world.

Good. I know you spend most of your time in "politics and world affairs" forum.
Perhaps it causes you speak less about politics at home and it's good for your wife.(or you speak even more about that? :uhh: )

I come here because of people(all the members) who like me a lot and can't live without me! o:)

Ok I was kidding. Seriously I came here to ask my questions about physics. But other parts are also nice esp. GD.

Are you studying physics/engineering because it will help you in your studies toward your career or just for general interest? Just curious. I began posting on PF mainly because of some astronomy and calculus classes I was taking, but it was reading Michio Kaku's books that led me here in the first place.

Actually I graduated last year. I studied physics but now I don't think I continue my education in physics. Well I think I was watching a program about black holes and I had some questions. So I searched for a physics forums and found this site.
