Homework Help: What type of (linear) motor do I need?

  1. Jun 4, 2012 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

    I want o make a programmable electric/electronic 4 seated teeter toter(sp?)
Instead of being manually operated using weight to push one end down, and drive to other up, I want to electronically push UP one end-thus driving the other down

(my electronics knowledge has accumulated way too much duist!)

    2. Relevant equations

    none at this point

    3. The attempt at a solution

I've determined so far, to do this, I'd need some type of linear motor-but not sure how to dertermine much beyond that.

    Thanks! Your help is appreciated!
