Where are the best places to buy scientific equipment?

In summary, the conversation discusses various options for finding affordable scientific equipment, including online retailers like Amazon, eBay, and Alibaba, physical stores like Lab Depot, Fisher Scientific, and VWR, and online marketplaces like LabX and BioSurplus. The decision to buy brand new or used equipment also depends on budget and individual needs, and it is important to research the brand and read reviews to ensure quality. Additionally, purchasing from reputable retailers or directly from the manufacturer is recommended.

So I'm mostly talking about things like digital thermometers that i can use everywhere, pressure gauges, humidity sensors, and chemical sensors (especially sensors of CO2 levels, O2 levels, particulate matter levels, and maybe things like decibel sensors). Just for plain curiosity. :)

Thanks!
