What is it like to study engineering/technology in Japan? How about USA? I'm considering leaving Norway for a year of exchange, but I can't figure out where. I want to go to a good universiity without having to spend all my time studying.

Probably USA? They study with great motivation (I mean the good students.)
Exchange to a good school there will be a great year.
besides, Japanese usually can't speak English well.
