We recently conducted an experiment to test water flow through pipes of different radii (to derive Poiseuille's law). We found that there was a reasonable water flow through all but one pipe: our 9cm long, 0.1525mm radius tube. Inspire using a pressure of 0.40kPa after an hour long lunch break there wasn't a measurable amount of water that had exited the tube. I have feeling it has something to do with the hydrogen bonding present in water. The water molecules are too tightly held together. What phenomena causes this? and if possible can you link a journal on this topic?
