Well if you do, you can drink it in the barn  this is a refined tea
party, and not for any old riff raff  i will join you when my guests
have retired for the night

What a splendid event! I'd give my right arm to be there. Of course that would make tea drinking a struggle because I am right handed.
1,200 thousand miles of land, and a rather large ocean, stand between me and my acceptance, sorry, perhaps another time.

A minor complication, that could easily be overcome, i could send old ned
to pick you up.

you know if you add 4 inch high heels you'd have the making of a great horror story.

But yes, send Ned 'round to fetch me, I'll be ready and waiting.

Please don't tempt me with sherry.

I'd better stick to tea. Strong, with a dash of milk, please, good sir.

Mmmmmm, thank you, I needed it since I just woke up a bit ago.

I had to look up Aga, I see it's a range, I wasn't familiar with them. I hope Zz doesn't burn the scones.

Well if he does he will be in my black book, but i doubt such a maestro could
perform to such depths.

Scones, or scones?

Wait a minute, they sound different, but look the same?! When did that happen?!

I could be lost for hours in rooms of antiques..and your etchings would most likey require a private viewing. :blushing:

My lady, anything can be arranged, at wolrams cott, maybe even a nocturnal
sherry, when all have retired.

24 inches ABOVE the knee? I guess a crop-top shirt that shows my belly-button counts as a dress in your neck of the woods. :bugeye:  I'm in.

Can I still wear a fancy hat and gloves? I'm still deciding upon the best combination of foliage and woodland creatures to guild and place atop my hat. What's the proper thing for tea parties nowadays? Must I wear white gloves? The tea and jam stains are so dreadfully difficult to remove. I'd prefer ones more colourful (see, spelled that proper British-like and everything).

Well the pagan decoration is green willow, white gloves are only for the gentry
and your belly button is for me

Amice,

what a delightful prospect, the contessa and I are elated. She desires to bring the tiramisu. James has already prepared the diligence (no, the coach, you uneducated), although we have to be careful with the stallion. It’s the season, you know. The esquire desires to RSVP, unfortunately, c’est la jeunesse.

And concerning belly buttons, parbleu! honi soit qui mal y pense.

On the following morn, for all that have not partaken of the evil spirt
we can dance around the maypole, with gaity for the new dawn, and
then leave me, to Brewenog for a right royal p----u--

Oh my, Nobility, with a randy stallion, Sir, the RSVP is on its way, i only hope
that our humble cott is not beneath your worth, i have arranged a hansom cab
for the transport of you and the contessa.

Tiramisu! its been years sense I've tasted that.

James has already prepared the diligence

{giggles} glad you explained that one

merci bien, cher ami,

But why fret about the residence? Thou domicle is thou chateau, non?

Since I will be attending alone (can't get a date), and wearing high heels, could I have a guide? I don't want to fall and twist my ankle while being chased by igor...

Is there anything I should bring? Oh, I love tea (Earl Grey?), and I'd like it with milk, please. It may make me a bit hyper though...

Well yes, but its not much of a gaff, old ned spends most of his time evicting
unwanted rodents, the roof leaks, and the matrasses need restuffing with
straw, i haven't got round to polishing the silver, i could go but your enjoyment
is my concern.

Fear not, old ned will provide you with a pair of wellies at the gate, as for an
escort, i think Brewenog is without a partner.
If that is not to your liking i will arrange a second hansom cab.
Please bring lashings of earl grey.

It's ok SOS, not sure about hypatia, but Moonbear and I are both dateless.

I always enjoyed Constant Comment when I was in my teens (orange with a bit of spice).

Wolram, I can come early and help stuff mattresses, and I'm quite handy with a needle and thread.

I really must learn more about these British customs. I hadn't realized that I only needed to announce that I would be arriving without an escort and one would be conveniently provided. That Wolram chap is quite the considerate host.

Thanks brewnog :blushing: (though I'm not sure about the evil laughter). I thought you were married, and maybe a scandalous affair would get me to level 6 of hell. Since this is a rather fancy affair, I'll try not to be too much of a wench. :uhh:
