I vote for Henry Miller, author of among many other books 'Tropic of Cancer'. He is as important and influential as Hemingway. Ok, his philosophy sometimes gets in the way of his writing and he can bang on a bit but anyone reading Tropic of Cancer knowing that it was written in the early 1930s cannot failed to be knocked over by its style, energy and ambition.

Henry Miller should have been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Yes, there have been several controversies surrounding the selection of Nobel laureates in literature. Some notable examples include the selection of Bob Dylan in 2016, which was met with mixed reactions, and the decision to award the prize to author Peter Handke in 2019, despite his controversial political views.

5. Can writers who have passed away still be awarded the Nobel Prize?

No, the Nobel Prize in Literature is only awarded to living writers. This means that if a writer dies before the announcement of the prize, they are no longer eligible to receive it, even if they were nominated during their lifetime.
