Great game. Thanks for sharing this.

I just got 110,426. I see people there getting millions and.........!!

    They should add more levels.

462,000...with more patience, I guess you can do a lot better.

    level 15 65,000 and I'm stuck!

Cool! You can get much higher scores by tossing the penguin into a precessing orbit, that won't collide with the ship for several minutes.

I assume you're refering to the part where pengwuins bounce off of planets?

    I'm in orbit o.0
    [IMG][IMG]
    Earlier I got 278,000 points

    Ok, onto my game now...

    EDIT: In orbit again :(
at least it looks cool O.O

EDIT2: I admit it! I'm trying to go into orbit countless amounts of times!

Holy mother pearl moose. No wonder people get millions. Check out thoes distances.

I'm sure they just scaled down their gravitational constant a few orders of magnitude.

EDIT.. err.. I mean scaled up.

coupled forces, differential equations of motion, gravitational pulls, orbits kinetics..

    yeah the penguins

I'm actually gonna wait for a few hours for the penguin's orbit to coincide with that of the ship:

I like the pretty pictures, personally.

How the hell are they ever going to leave their orbit to hit the ship?

How is gravity modeled in that game? It looks very unrealistic. Why is the penguin's orbit precessing? Real orbits don't do that (in the case of two bodies, whose force on each other is proportional to 1/r^2, and the force of gravity IS proportional to 1/r^2). The way the penguin's velocity varies with time when he is shot directly toward or away from the planet also seems peculiar.

Not very well I think. You seem to be able to get into orbit incredibly easy...

I'm sure you understand that that's not what I meant. I was talking about the equations themselves, not the numerical values of masses, distances, and the gravitational constant. According to classical mechanics, when there are two gravitationally bound bodies orbiting around their common center of mass, their orbits won't precess.

    You're right, there's a bug!

If you toss the penguin away from a planet - when he turns around, there's a discontinuous jump in speed, as if someone messed up in the programming.

edit: no I'm wrong, the slingshot thing threw me off

hmmm unless I really try to, then I just smash into the planet:grumpy:

I got 635,955, 8th top score for today!
