Are you struggling in physics and chemistry labs?
Thanks for the advice! Number Nine and symbolipoint - I suppose I do tend to rush the prep before a lab - I'll try to take my time going through things before the lab. Also, I'll try out the diagram thing if the situation calls for it - I've already done forms. johng23 - I think that's...- afims123

Are you struggling in physics and chemistry labs?
For the past couple of years I've been having trouble in my physics and chemistry labs. Not horrible trouble - I still get good grades and understand what's going on. But everything seems to be 10 times more painful for me than everyone else... I can figure out what should be done next, and...- afims123

Graduate Detecting sub-hertz electromagnetic radiation
Could someone point me in the right direction on how low frequency (< 3 Hz) electromagnetic radiation is detected? I tried googling it, but my searches didn't really work; perhaps I was using the wrong terms? Another thing: what is the lowest frequency that has been detected, and what limits...- afims123

Schools Grad school & getting tied into a field of physics
Thanks for the advice, especially the bit about an independent study and condensed matter physics - I'll be looking into both of them. As for an REU, where I go it's mandatory to do either a physics-related internship or research with a faculty member in order to graduate. Also, in order to...- afims123

Schools Grad school & getting tied into a field of physics
If I applied to graduate schools for quantum computing (as a physics major), how easy would it be to switch to some other area in quantum mechanics, solid state, or optics? In particular, how easy is it to change both during and after graduate school, as a grad student and as a post-doc...- afims123
