Graduate Electron Orbital: Ellipticity in Atom Systems
The orbits of planets have some ellipticity. Is there any corresponding ellipticity in the orbital of electrons? Are we able to see some ellipticity at least for a many electron atom, if not for the Hydrogen like atoms? I expect to see some ellipticity. We solve the Hydrogen atom problem...- akbmurugan

While solving the Schrödinger equation for Hydrogen atom, we use the reduced mass and get the wave functions of the electron. I like to get the wave functions of the nucleus as well as that of the electron. This may probably need to avoid using the reduced mass concept. Is this problem...- akbmurugan
