Thanks for the reminder that merely having the second derivative equal to 0 doesn't imply that the volume won't decrease. I guess the equation for the change of volume could be something hypothetically like V(t) = V(1-kt3). or V(t) = V(1-kt**4) etc. I need to research this myself. Maybe someone...
