I just thought about my last comment...
The US may have nothing to worry about regarding just moving/deporting people just as they please and being more like China. Donald Trump is highly likely to be the next President.
Job's a good'un people. Well done!
Unless!... you're China.
If you ARE China then you can build a dam and move people without so much as a "by your leave". All you need to do is offer them their bus fares and Fanny is your Aunt.
I really like your idea about an atmospherically generated gmf.
With regards the slight changes in Earth's orientation or speed change or similar I was thinking along the lines of the resultant Coriolis Force and how this might affect outer core liquid metal flow and in turn, magnetic field...
You're welcome Jim and thanks for the links. It'll take me a while to get through that lot.
If I come across a, decent, page on the swarm I'll post it as requested.
Have a good day.

Food for thought...
Are there connections between the Earth's magnetic field and climate? https://www.researchgate.net/publication/222817231_Are_there_connections_between_the_Earth's_magnetic_field_and_climate
I'm pretty sure they did.
I didn't bring up what the additional footprint is for getting the fuel out of the ground and to power stations etc either.
What's greenest I'd imagine is the lowest impact to the environment device which offers renewable energy at the highest rate. As you observed...
Hey thanks everyone, particularly Jim, for the responses on this. I had no idea where to get the figures from to do these calculations.
Electric cars are a no brainer if you can charge them from green energy sources. If not, well, you're as well off buying a very economical petrol/diesel car...
Really nice post Jim.
I had a look at those links you posted and pretty quickly found myself out of my depth... but as you're a smart cookie and appear to have time on your hands enough to post here I thought I'd ask...
If angular momentum changes then the intensity of the magnetic field would...
ok, let's say that my car, a Mazda 6 is getting 300 miles per 60L tank. This is a variety of roads and speeds...typically, ludicrous speed.
Let's also look at a purely electric car...the Tesla Model 3 say...or whichever model comes with the ludicrous speed upgrade. If you charge this from a...
Hello all. I'm pretty disorganised and not very clever so I thought I'd ask you all...
If you charge an electric car from a power station run on fossil fuel is it cleaner than a petrol car?
I'm wondering after looking at the energy loss in converting fossil fuel to electricity and then in...
Nice piece. I have asked a question regarding these things in another thread. Please follow the link and remember I'm a think Northerner when reading.

If you have any answers or can provide the references mentioned...
Thanks Dave.
It is the Earth's geomagnetic field that I'm curious about. I've been reading up on geomagnetic excursion in the last few weeks.
The reason I wanted to as about the processes in isolation was to better understand them. The pages you have sent over, thanks, are pages I have read...
Hi all! ObiWanKenoobi here... it's my first post.
My question is on a few levels based on my rudimentary understanding of most things.
1. If you have a ball of molten metal which is tightly compressed to behave almost like a solid... HOW is a magnetic field generated if the ball rotates on an...
