Did Albert Einstein Say "Everything is Energy"?
I checked the website of that Darryl Anka, and he did seem quite fruity to me, channelling spirits (Bashar) 'n all. Incidently, there are a couple of poets with the name Bashar, particularly one famous arabic one, and I suppose I read too quickly and mixed the two (Anka and Bashar). I do take...- alt

Are You a Vegetarian? | Poll & Discussion
I would have thought the opposite. Wild animals, described by you as natural beautiful things, eat wild animals. Aboriginal races eat wild animals. Give me wild duck to chicken any day. Here's a few lines from Dryden, which, absent of the God talk (if you're an athiest) is quite good, imo ...- alt

Why Does Prometheus Reuse Images from Alien?
It's been out in Australia for several days. From the trailers, I was really looking forward to seeing it next weekend - that is, until I just saw it got 2 out of 5 stars from reviewers I consider reliable.- alt

Undergrad Power of the Pendulum - Proof of Ultra-Efficiency?
It's all in the "measuring instrument with piston mechanism" When he strikes the ball with the block raised, there is sufficient inertia resistance to push the piston in by degrees, thus imparting much energy to that, rather than moving the whole contraption across the table. When he...- alt

High School Are ghosts real or just a scientific phenomenon?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travis_Walton Reading this and your previous posts on the TW case, I'm not sure how you feel about it. Are you saying it's credible ? IMO, it is a not so elaborate hoax. For monetary gain - to invoke the 'act of god clause' because his brother in law was behind...- alt

Is it possible for all truths to be known?
Lugita15; Rather than a debate on the nature of truth and reality, I keep trying to bring it back to what this thread is about. You opened the thread with a so called paradox, and you made the statement; So to review, we started with the hypothesis that P is an unknown truth .. I...- alt

Is it possible for all truths to be known?
Click on the 'onelook' link I gave in post #98. There it is there (presuming it comes up the same for you - I just did it again, and it did for me). Entry #10 on the main page "Webster's New World College Dictionary, 4th Ed." Click on that and you get the exact definition I posted in #98...- alt

Whats more economical, filling pot with hot water, or cold, to boil water?
Probably not - not because of that, anyway. I was more referring to large water heaters that heat, then keep stored a high volume - 275 litre to 415 litre ones are not uncommon round my way.- alt

Whats more economical, filling pot with hot water, or cold, to boil water?
Only Use Cold Water for Consumption I strongly support this. Two different plumbers have told me the same. Not because of contamination from the pipes, because you'd get that in hot or cold tap water, but because of contamination from the heater itself - particularly when water is very hot in...- alt

He's an authority on this ? The OP's quote of the book says; As the explosion continued .. Yet we hear constantly that it was no explosion. -

A gem of truth over at the cosmology forum, by a contributor of 21,000 posts no less .. that means, it isn't, but pretending it is helps you to understand it https://www.physicsforums.com/showpost.php?p=3915273&postcount=2 - edited 1st line- alt

Is it possible for all truths to be known?
500 years ago it WAS their reality and their truth that the sun went round the earth. Worked for them - as far as it went. Now it's our reality and truth that the Earth goes round the sun. Works for us - as far as it goes. But you can't interpolate your reality / truth on theirs, unless you...- alt

Is it possible for all truths to be known?
You disagree with 'a fact that has been verified' but you strongly AGREE (your caps) with 'proven by fact' (Webster's), 'the actual facts or information about something, rather than what people think, expect, or make up' (Macmillan) 'correctness, accuracy' Wiktionary, etc. So in your view...- alt
