Did you know anyone who had a good GPA and wasn't accepted? I'm also curious: what internship did you do if you don't mind me asking? I can't for the life of me find valuable internships or REUs for CC students.

I was definitely thinking about taking a summer course or two at a university near me. Are there any programs that you would recommend to get involved with?

Something that has helped me quite a bit (I'd imagine it would be more helpful to grad students) is the American Physical Society. Maybe at the seminar they could cover different societies such as APS, SPS, or the AIP, all of which congregates tons of useful information.

@Dishsoap Out of curiosity, did you participate in the program when you were accepted? If so, how was the experience? I'm looking into REUs for next Summer and this one sounds super interesting.

Oof, I wish I heard about this program earlier! I saw this discussion posted in 2011 which says they planned on deciding their Summer selections on April 1st, so I wouldn't be too worried about it. Good luck!
