I think my goal is to really understand Calculus and not just memorize things. The understanding part of math is the reason why I like math at all, and I don't want to just memorize equations and theorems and not understand how they work. Ok, and yeah i found Spivak sort of confusing; he doesn't state the obvious, but I hear Apostol does, which is good. Just wondering, why is Stewart's book considered not a great book? It seems like a pretty standard Math textbook.- athena810

Hi, So how does measuring my arm get the Kinetic Energy? Sorry, I'm really confused. So I should put the measurements at 2 significant digits? Oh, it asked for horizontal and vertical and not together, i should have put theta = 0 for Vx and theta = 270 for Vy.- athena810

I don't quite understand...is there no theta then? And I did not really throw it in the parabolic path. I don't understand, do i just time the amount of time I swing my arm and the length of my arm? significant figures, the time i got was .5 seconds which is 1 significant figure. Direction. Will this work? So definition of | |: The positive value of any real number. Case 1: If x, y >= 0..then |x| = x, |y| = y, xy >= 0. Thus |xy| =xy = |x||y|?- athena810

It was defined the normal way with the 4 cases. Then it was like: "This theorem can also be proved in a much simpler way. Notice: √x^2 = |x|.
