Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

When you say 2 to 4 I am assuming you mean 4 to 1. If that's the case it won't be enough for combustion. you will need around 150 psi or more.

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

If you inject the fuel at TDC how will you keep it from igniting before the spark.

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

I'm not that concerned because the big idea is how I get the compressed air from one chamber to the other..

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

lol thanks I don't want to share too many specifics because I'm in the process of getting a patent. It would just suck to spend all this money and my idea have some huge flaw I didn't think of. I've started the process but that only goes so far..

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

This would use no camshafts no mechanical valves etc.

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

This is not a problem with a rotary. This is my actual idea

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

True but not by the extreme amounts you could with this. It's also WAY more simple than trying to do it with camshaft timing etc. It's also more precise on a cycle to cycle basis.

Is Offset Grinding the Key to Increasing Engine Power?

Just a few tricks.. you can grind cams with a very aggressive ramp rate and actually throw the valves open further than the actual cam lift. Take a look at nascar pistons. If any weight is allowed I would have the smallest area of skirt I could and still hold the piston square. If there is no...

Looking for opinions on connecting rod failure

No way, that amount of spray would have exploded the engine. We just need more details..

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

You can't change compression based on load

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

Mender, I'm talking compression injection pressures of around 50bar

Can a Split Cycle HCCI Engine with External Compression Work?

Piston or rotary. It would be better for efficiency because it fires ATDC and could run in HCCI mode. Used with gas it would be way more efficient because it wouldn't need to be throttled and ran in a vacuum. Emissions with gas and diesel would be way lower because of complete combustion at...

Looking for opinions on connecting rod failure

True but even cutting the rpm in half would only roughly double the boost. Most well set up cars are not going to leave with much more than 5psi, especially a stick car. At 600hp his is probably running around 35psi full tilt and there is no way he is making it before 2nd gear without nitrous...

Looking for opinions on connecting rod failure

Mender I agree for the most part but boost alone couldn't do that. I've run 50+ psi on methanol without any problems. Defiantly looks like anti-lag gone wrong.
