Undergrad Losses involved in reflection and refraction
when light is reflected on a surface, there is always going to be some absorbsion by the reflective material. what I'm curious to find out is whether the losses in refraction are compareable? is it just dependent on the transparency of the material? -

Undergrad Can a High Power Laser Melt a Prism and How to Make a Reflective Missile?
how does one make a missile more reflective than 'a mirror'? whose sole purpose is to be reflective? -

Graduate I understand that free neutrons are unstable and decay within about 10
i understand that free neutrons are unstable and decay within about 10 mins, presumably because of the weak nuclear force would anti neutrons theorectically behave in the same way, or would anitmatter-matter chirality impact at all?- benmww

Undergrad Time Slows Down in Refractive Materials?
i understand that light 'slows down' in a refractive material when passing through it, but is this an actual drop in speed, or is the light absorbed and re-emmiited etc, so that its actual velocity does not decrease, merely the appearence of it. does time slow down inside optical material?- benmww

Undergrad Speed of light in refractive material
i understand that the speed of light slows down in a nmaterial with a refractive index greater than one when compared to a vacuum, but is this merely the speed rather than the velocity decreasing, ie does time actually pass slower? i suppose what i would really like to understand is the...- benmww

Undergrad Large amount of electrons rotaing in magnetic feild
I understandthat moving charged particles can be made to rotate in a magnetic field, but what happens when the induced magnetic field of the current exceeds the containing field? the situation I am imagining is a beta radiation source ejecting high speed electrons perpendiculat to the field...- benmww
