A bit lost in the science/engineering fields
When I first started high school, I was pretty dead set on being an engineer. Now, it's college apps time, and I'm more clueless than when I started. Why? Over the years I've become more and more tired of math. Geometry was fun - but starting from Algebra I've felt like a human calculator, to...- bentrinh

Comparing IT vs Engineering for High School Juniors
I'm sorry, I may not have made myself clear enough. When I say "IT" I mean Information Technology, and I say I'm a junior in high school I mean in the 11th grade. Also, I happen to be horrible in chemistry just because it can't see it. You mean comp sci majors and engineers take the same...- bentrinh

Comparing IT vs Engineering for High School Juniors
I'm a junior in high school. Right now I'm considering two majors: Aerospace engineering IT I originally was set on engineering - I love the sky (just a thing of mine), and I love building things. Naturally I'd love building things that fly. However my math skills gets increasingly worse as we...- bentrinh

Which Class is Best for an Aerospace Engineering Major's Transcript?
Well I'm probably going to take the engineering course instead. Solving physics problems is fun, but our teacher can be less than productive sometimes, and I love engineering 10 times more - bentrinh

Which Class is Best for an Aerospace Engineering Major's Transcript?
I don't know what Physics class it is, but it's a step above our regular Physics class, and requires no more than algebra 2.- bentrinh

Which Class is Best for an Aerospace Engineering Major's Transcript?
Hi, I'm a junior in high school (aerospace engineering major), and we're set to register for next year in a few days. Due to schedule constraints (high school graduation requirements... just PE and Economics) I'm stuck between Physics AP and Cal Poly's PLTW Engineering Principles course. I've...- bentrinh

Is It Possible to Avoid Designing Weapons in Aerospace Engineering?
Well, going as far as a jet engine is too board to be morally objectable to me. I'm just concerned about designing anything that is made only to kill. My real concern was finding a job not designing weapons, and then ordered to design on. Looks like it's not an issue :) [/URL] Haha you're...- bentrinh

Is It Possible to Avoid Designing Weapons in Aerospace Engineering?
Hi, I'm a junior in high school, and I've been aiming for a degree in aerospace engineering since middle school. But it came up in my mind that the aerospace field seems to be dominated by weapons. Maybe I'm just a naive kid, but I don't think I can stand watching a bomb I helped design fall...- bentrinh

Calculating Tension Force for Different Masses
Homework Statement The following is for a lab report. We had a couple pulleys set up, with a weight on one side, and a weight on the other side. We timed how long it took for it to fall and figured out the acceleration was .891 m/s^{2} http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/5316/uploadyt.jpg I...- bentrinh

Deciding to Drop AP English: Benefits & Risks
Thanks everyone, I decided to drop AP English and instead focus on my other classes... turns out AP Physics and AP Biology is open (I might take AP Biology for the easy A, and hence huge GPA boost). I know taking AP on everything possible is ideal, but I realized I won't be able to take them all...- bentrinh

Programs Yet another Which Career/Major? thread.
Yet another "Which Career/Major?" thread. Hi, recently I've realized that I really need to start exploring majors/careers soon. I figure everyone here would be knowledgeable in that. I'm not sure what kind of information is needed, but here's what I think is related. If you're too lazy too...- bentrinh

Deciding to Drop AP English: Benefits & Risks
I know this is somewhat of a trivial thing, but... I've been stuck on deciding whether or not to drop my AP English class. I'm a junior in high school. My GPA is 3.75 overall or 3.70 academic/Calgrant. I'm not exactly sure of my major, but I'm planning on Engineering, if not, something in the...- bentrinh

Engineering Looking for a career in Aerospace Engineering
I know, I know I'm bumping an old thread, but don't have a full answer yet... This is with I have so far: The most important on top: Cal Tech Purdue MIT UC's (Davis, Berkeley) ERAU (as a backup?)- bentrinh

Engineering Looking for a career in Aerospace Engineering
Yes, that's what I'm concerned about! I saw the "best aerospace program" ranking, and if you read the fine print I just see it says "where the highest degree is a master's". Not to sound cocky, but I think I have a decent shot at getting into the higher-end universities. ERAU's skewed ratings...- bentrinh
