Undergrad Verifying Divergence Theorem with Triple/Surface Integrals
I am trying to verify the divergence theorem by using the triple integral and the surface integral of the vector field dotted with dS. No trouble per se, I'm not sure though about one thing: I am given a function and six planes (they form a cube). When I set x=0 the vector field is given as...- blank_slate

Voltaic Cells and electron flow
It's still a bit odd though. The copper directly interacting with the zinc makes sense, because the actually atoms are interacting, but the voltaic cell is indirect. Yeah the anode has a higher electric potential and such, but just because I stick a wire between them means that electrons will...- blank_slate

Voltaic Cells and electron flow
In a voltaic cell, why do electrons flow at all? If I place a piece of zinc metal into a zinc ion solution, nothing happens, right? Likewise if I place a copper electrode into a copper ion solution, nothing happens. When I attach the half cells with something that allows electrons to flow...- blank_slate

Graduate Selecting the correct bounds for polar integrals
Hi! Here's a question I am working on: Double integral of arctan(y/x). where R: 1≤x2+y2≤4, 0≤y≤x. I have the bounds for r as 1 to 2, but for θ I don't know if I should use ∏/4 to ∏/2 or 0 to ∏/2. How do I know which one? The integration is easy, but I need help with the bounds...- blank_slate
