... but if I am asked for an odds ratio, then I am not being asked for a ratio between girl undernourishment odds and boy undernourishment odds? Looking at boys alone, I can only have the odds of undernourishment in boys, not a ratio of odds... I think...
Hi, just a small doubt I'm having:
I'm given a cross tabulation table, such as undernourished status versus gender of the child:
-----------------------------undernourished
-----------------------------yes--------no
--------------------boy------37-------- 86
---------gender...

In an X,Y,Z system, an arbitrary vector would have components: X=Z tan(a)sin(b), Y= Z tan(a)cos(b), Z = SQURT(X^2+Y^2)tan(a), where a is the angle between the vector and its horizontal projection, and b is the angle between the horizontal projection and...
Hello all,
I have a PNI TCM2 electronic compass module, which has a 3-axis magnetometer and a 2-axis tiltmeter (manual: http://www.mil.ufl.edu/projects/gnuman/spec_sheets/tcm2_man.pdf" ), and provides heading with tilt compensation.
The module also provides "pitch" and "roll" measurements...
Hello,
can someone please explain what exactly is meant when it is said that some measurement is accurate to some value RMS?
Eg, "suppose that we have a bucketful of nominally 100-ohm resistors, accurate to 1 percent RMS"
or,
"we shall use an ohmmeter with an accuracy of 3 ohms RMS...
Hello all,
thanks for your inputs!
And yes, I asked them to look for an index and it turns out that ADD does stand for Abu Dhabi Datum, so probably as Studiot said, NADD = National Abu Dhabi Datum.
Thanks a lot! XD
No, I only have the extract that was sent to me;
however I will ask them if there is such an index,
thanks for your help, if I find out what it is I'll let you know.
Hi, thanks for looking into it!
It is the "GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION
CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR THE MASDAR DEVELOPMENT
ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ", sorry I cannot share this online as I don't have permission to do so.
It uses NADD continuously, for example, when talking of soil...
Hi,
I was reading a geotechnical report, and there is a sentence that says:
"the groundwater level on site was identified at depths ranging from +1.50m NADD to..."
does anyone know what NADD is?
Thank you very much!
Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to save a 3D plot in Matlab (eg a "surf(x,y,z)" plot) so that it is viewable outside of Matlab and so that you can still rotate the view etc? And in particular, so it can be viewed in a webpage? Something like LiveGraphics3D?
I don't...
mhm I see. It's interesting though, I hadn't realized that the line-to-line voltages of a 3-phase system (the 208V) is used for powering single-phase appliances. As I said, over here in Europe we only have phase-voltages (line to neutral of a 3-phase system) available in our houses/flats, but...
No, I think the current absorbed by a motor would simply depend on the load it's moving (the mechanical torque).
Yes, so if they're moving the same load, I suppose they should be consuming the same power, so the 220V one would absorb half the current..
O: so then you can ruin your appliance if its meant for a chalet (120V) and you take it to your appartment and plug it into the 208V socket D=
Isn't that confusing for consumers?
Over here for residential use, whether in appartments or houses, all our sockets are 230V (line to neutral)...
Okay sorry I had no idea about the extra line in antiphase, so I thought the OP was talking about three-phase when talking about line to line voltages. My bad. I don't think we have such a thing in Europe, I guess that's because it's 220V from line to neutral (though now we call it 230V) :P
