Help with Physics - Object submerged, displacement, density, pressure?
Ok, so for number 2, density=mass/volume. I found the volume of a Liter of water is 1m^3. So, then I get 6kg/m^3. How does the book get 6000kg/m^3? And for 3, I got the 1st part but I don't know how to get total pressure?- bpears

Help with Physics - Object submerged, displacement, density, pressure?
Bruce, you are spot on. My instructor tells us to just use 10m/s^2 for gravity. Which I now see was a bad idea for our book. So, I get the 1st one. But the other two, I don't know how to do. For number 2, I see that if it displaces 1L, then it must have the volume of 1L? And its safe to...- bpears

Help with Physics - Object submerged, displacement, density, pressure?
Yeah, well I don't even know where to begin. I can tell it is simple but I don't know what I need to do. If you honestly believe I'm just trying to have u do my home work, then use different numbers. I just want to know HOW to do these. Thanks.- bpears

Help with Physics - Object submerged, displacement, density, pressure?
I have a few physics problems I need help with. Please show work or I won't know how to do it. My book has no example problems. 1. Suppose you balance a 5kg ball on the tip of your finger, which has an area of 1 cm^2. Show that the pressure on your finger is 49N/cm^2, which is 490kPa...- bpears

Undergrad Help with a project - Air speed, compressed?
Ok, so I see what you're saying kind of now. I found the equation of continuity. But are you supposed to square the ratio before multiplying to the input speed? Here's the equation I have: V1A1=V2A2. But I think that is for no change in density? Is change in density meaning compression? For... -

Undergrad Help with a project - Air speed, compressed?
Well, I actually want compression if it will increase the wind speed out the other end. So would that change the equation with compression? And did I give a correct example of the ratio you describe? Thanks for your help, I've been looking all over online for something about this, but... -

Undergrad Help with a project - Air speed, compressed?
So if it were 30mph in, and the ratio was 1:10, then it would be 300mph out? What speed into tube, would cause compression, and then would the compression make the output speed more than the size in/out ratio? -

Undergrad Help with a project - Air speed, compressed?
1.If you have a wind tunnel, a tubing that goes from a large opening, to a smaller opening, with the larger opening facing the wind, will the wind speed be more out the smaller end since its being compressed? 2.Is there a way to calculate/guesstimate the difference in wind speed by the...
