Distance from the object to objective lens and focal length
Homework Statement 1) The medium-power objective lens in a laboratory microscope has a focal length fobjective = 3.70mm . If this lens produces a lateral magnification of -42.5, what is its "working distance"; that is, what is the distance from the object to the objective lens? 2) What is the...- bubothedog

Suggest one way of sizing the transistors of the logic
Homework Statement Suggest one way of sizing the transistors of the logic circuit such that its worst case tpHL equals the tpHL of an inverter with a sizing of (W/L)min. Homework Equations I think the only equation is the (W/L) itself. The Attempt at a Solution I have actually done the front...- bubothedog

Finding uncertainty for index of refraction
Anyway, I got another question. If i am given a set of numbers of repeated values. For example I am to find the velocity and given a equation of Dist/Time. I have 10 repeated timings let's say 1-10s. The distance is given to be 5+-0.5m. How do I find the uncertainty for the velocity? Hi...- bubothedog

Finding uncertainty for index of refraction
I find the mean for both i and r. i=30, r=19.4 by using all the 5 values of i(10+20+30+40+50)/5 and similar for r. I then proceed to find the std.dev and std.error using the formulas. My std.error i=7.07, r=4.246. All in degrees. With that I find the best estimated n using the formula of...- bubothedog

Finding uncertainty for index of refraction
Hi, thanks for the reply. But how do I approach this question? If I use the mean, std.dev method and then using the std.dev to find the std.error. Will the answer be correct? I tried using this method and I got an answer of 1.5+- 0.5 but I am not sure if this method is the right way since the...- bubothedog

Finding uncertainty for index of refraction
Homework Statement In an experiment to find the index of refraction, n, of a block of glass, the angle of incidence, θi , and angle of refraction, θr , were measured a number of times as follows: θi 10◦ 20◦ 30◦ 40◦ 50◦ θr 7.0 ◦ 13.5 ◦ 20.0 ◦ 25.5 ◦ 31.0 ◦ calculate the index of refraction n...- bubothedog
