Calvin Rose brings a unique combination of financial planning, fundamental financial analysis, mathematical modeling, and portfolio design expertise to Clear Capital Management. While at Merrill Lynch, Calvin improved upon his 29 years of portfolio construction by applying financial planning principles to the rigor of his financial models. This enabled him to create portfolio designs better suited to unique high net worth investor needs.

Calvin worked with custody, fund administration, fund accounting, and transfer agency banks such as Bank of New York, State Street, and Brown Brothers Harriman for the Merrill Lynch IQ Advisors fund of funds. Earlier in his career Calvin worked with firms such as Smith Barney, Dillon Reed, Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and others to recompile and move their modeling code from the Cray supercomputer platform to less expensive Sun workstations with vectorizing compilers and attached high-speed vector processors.

Calvin has a Master’s of Science degree in Physics with an emphasis on empirical modeling of complex systems. His early work focused on the acoustic measurement and modeling of Steinway pianos for CBS, Inc. and highly innovative audio designs for Bose Corporation to produce a superior sound and musical experience.
