Is it possible for an extension spring to be 20 inches long while unloaded, 32 or so inches long fully extended(12" max displacement), and have an initial load of 30-40 lbs? All other properties are virtually not important. If so, where could I buy them?

I would like to know how to find the deflection of simple 2 beam assemblies. In college, I remember only doing one beam problems. For example, a beam supported at both ends with a load in the center would follow the equation v_max= -(P*L^3)/(48*E*I).

Situation: A pipe with a cut out so it will break when a shear force is exerted at the top of the pipe. The break point is at the cut out and the the force is impact in lbs.
What is the wall thickness(or cross sectional area) at the cut out point?
I know i may be missing variables...
