The Circle and the Square - How do I get a max value from a min value problem?
Dynamicsolo, here is my two cents eventho I have not done max and min problems for years. Plot you equation of TA=f(x) in the interval of 0<x<50 and see how it curves. We know that is is a parabolic curve and the max value should be evident but not necessarily useful. If you can use excel...- chicopee

Graduate Is Point M on the Circumscribed Circle of Square ABCD?
I am a little bit "befuddled" about the sentence "point on a circle about square", however I am assuming that you are referring about four corners of a square on a circle . The proper sentence should be " circumscribing the square on the circle" that way there is no confusion. Nonetheless...- chicopee

Undergrad Galaxies receeding at and above speed of light
So if I understand the balloon analogy and the recession > c, as the photons travel from one galaxy to our own, the photons travel in a curved path (surface of the balloon). Before reaching a point ( lets's say the halfway point if the two galaxies were on the same latitude) on the surface of... -

Undergrad Galaxies receeding at and above speed of light
I am not a physicist but I am an engineer who uses your science. Cosmology is fascinating and what I know about it is not much and much of which I've learned from programs such as NOVA and from a 1960 college course in Modern Physics. My question is from some information I read or heard... -

Graduate Regression Analysis for a Gamma function
[SOLVED] Regression Analysis for a Gamma function My regression analysis program that I developed in BASICS back in the 1980's applies for half a dozen linear equations some of which are transormed into log forms. I would like to modify my program to include this Gamma function...- chicopee
