Cosmology has been a life long passion because I was nine when Einstein died. I did not know who he was but the news coverage was huge "the smartest man in the world has died" and some said he was the smartest person who has lived. Einstein became a super-hero to me so a few years later when I saw a book "The Universe and Albert Einstein" I read it. The book was written for the general public so "energy equals mass times the speed of light squared" was all the math I remember shown however through illustrations of Einstein's thought experiments the fundamentals of the effects of General Relativity where shown. Through luck a college professor (Oscar F. Wiegand) and friend of the family saw my interest and taught me Boolean algebra, geometry, scientific thinking, science history and physics for four years from age 13-17. He advised me to take advanced physics in college so I chose electrical engineering.
