Actually, speaking of Germany, its really the only other country other then Japan that id be willing to go too. As far as Nagoya goes, here is a link explaining the course. http://admissions.g30.nagoya-u.ac.jp/en/Program/undergraduate/programs_ug/fundamental_and_applied_physics_program.html...
Hmm Ok, I'm trying to stay out of my local state, but its not a must. (but very much implied) Though one of my state colleges is in the top 100 (90's). I am trying for a college in Japan. Nagoya, they have an international program let's people study Physics in english for a 4yr degree in...
Ok. I'm a late bloomer into science. I'm 21 almost 22. I am about out of the military. During my high school years I didn't push myself. I stayed around a 2.8 to 3.2 GPA and top 40% of my class not high. I've changed since then and always test extremely high. I was selected for AP classes but...
I checked this out. And looked up Trig ... I know most of what is already being said in the videos ... is Trig also called Algebra 3 in some places? I took Geometry in 9th, algebra 2 in 10th and Algebra 3 in 11th grade. I was supposed to be taking Pre-calc / statistics (2 different classes)...
Algebra is easy for me, I have 0 issues, on the math placement test I scored 95/100
I took college level Algebra and scored an A, if that helps. I am just not sure what is next after that. From the MIT courses online that is. Same as a starting base for Physics on the MIT courses.
I appreciate the extra feed back, and it was a good point to make, that setting myself in a school that only focuses on Science / engineering can be a bad idea. But in some ways, I feel if I'm given to many choices in a school, ill be likely to want to quit if things get a bit hard.
I...
Alright, I will look into those books, but Id like to have a math book to either read at the same time or before, that's the next biggest suggestion I need.
Also wanted to make sure it was clear that I am going for Astrophysics mostly (may switch to just Physics but plan is Astrophysics)
Thanks for sharing your story TMSxPhyFor, seeing stuff like this really helps me realize that its still possible, and to some extent I know its still possible for me to pick up a lifestyle working with physics. At this point, its a matter of getting myself to a point where I am ready or at...
Thanks for the additional feed back JustAnotherGu, as far as you link on the GI-bill, that is true, but what you need to look into is the Yellow Ribbon program. Its an agreement amongst colleges to alter their tuition to that of a reasonable level for the VA to pay for. MIT has a section on...
I know the schools I listed, seem a little "out of place" considering how top end they are; and considering my grades. My intent on that is to follow through using the Yellow Ribbon program, which I know MIT (not sure on Caltech yet) is apart off. This program once they become apart of it...
re-posted this, I accidentally put this in the wrong location first time. So just posting it where it should have been the first time.
I know the common saying is "its never to late to ..."etc. But I'm 21 almost 22 about to medically retire from the military. I've been struggling since I was...
