R for Beginners: Textbooks & Resources for Neurobiology
Thanks for the links, I’ll pass them on. Yes RStudio is what she has to use. I did a Google search and checked the forum resources before posting. I mistakenly assumed R resources would be as common as for Python, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Think we’ll have to have a further search...- cobalt124

R for Beginners: Textbooks & Resources for Neurobiology
My daughter has just started her first year at university studying Neurobiology. She doesn’t have much experience with programming and is having to learn R (RStudio 3.0.2) from scratch for the statistical modelling/graph plotting parts of the course. She knows what she needs to do with her data...- cobalt124

Computer languages tend to be transient
Ha, used to fill these out at High School in Computer Studies, send them off to the local Polytechnic to get punched and run, wait a week for the errors to come back and repeat the process.- cobalt124

Music Has all the Good Music Been Played/Copied/Completed?
My first thought on this is the musician is wrong. If music is self expression then he is saying that there are not any new people! From that perspective I disagree.- cobalt124

Python Can I ask some basic Python installation questions?
Yes, definitely use Anaconda, I asked the same question fairly recently and had Python up and running more or less straightaway. Pip install works fine for installing extra packages.- cobalt124

Python Easy Guide for Installing Pillow and Pygame on Windows XP with Python 3.4.3
Thanks for all the advice, sorry for the late response times are busy at the moment. I suspected this would be trickier without internet access so I'm going to get that set up before I proceed and hopefully the process will be a lot more straightforward. If I still have problems, I may take a...- cobalt124

Python Easy Guide for Installing Pillow and Pygame on Windows XP with Python 3.4.3
I'm using Windows XP without Internet access with Python 3.4.3 installed. I wish to install Pillow and Pygame, but can't get them to install correctly. I'm going round in circles on the Internet, StackExchange and other sites. I've tried using: Pillow-5.4.1.win32-py3.4.exe...- cobalt124

Movie Classics that totally escape me
Admittedly it was a long time ago and I was less mature, so I'll give it a second look. It seems I like films with a strong musical score, another two spring to mind, The Third Man (Orson Welles again) and Psycho. Also like James Cagney gangster movies such as Angels with Dirty Faces and White...- cobalt124
