Graduate Are The Elementary Particles Truly 'Elementary'?
I teach pre physics and chemistry to private high school students in central nj. I am looking for someone that has worked with atoms to speak to my classes on an elementary level. Any ideas?- Conde

Why does it take so long to get to modern physics in US high school curriculum?
Hi Everyone! I teach chemistry to eleventh grade and physics to twelfth grade in a private high school in central NJ. I was wondering if anyone knows a nuclear physicist or anyone that has experience working with atoms that may be interested in speaking to my class. Thanks for any information- Conde

Thanks for your reply. I am still confused as to whether when you stand on a scale you are pushing the spring down, which sounds more likely or whether as is written in some books, the spring is pushing up. Also is your weight measured from the scale pushing up, or from your weight pushing... -

I am unsure how bathroom scales work. Does your weight compress or depress the spring? Do scales measure the upward or downward force? Please explain in detail.
