YOU: Fix the US Energy Crisis
I think it would be beneficial to use third world nations' agriculturally-poor land to construct energy fields, like CST fields or wind turbine fields. This way, they can trade energy for food and we have a fix for poverty and starvation, as well as improving environmental conditions.- danielandpenn

High School Gravel Running: Friction & Velocity Questions
Okay, so I was running the other day and thinking about friction as I hit a patch of gravel. I'm a new physics student so I know enough to think about some things but not enough to know the answers yet. Why is it that if friction works to slow down my velocity, then when there is less friction...- danielandpenn

Undergrad Joining two orbiting space vehicles
Thanks D H, but I was just curious. I don't want to buy a book. I really just wanted to be lazy and have someone give me a clue. (haha) It fascinates me but I'm in school and raising a family so I don't have the time to add another book to my "to-do" list. I appreciate your giving me the...- danielandpenn

Undergrad Joining two orbiting space vehicles
I'm curious to know how the engineers of NASA determine how to join two moving, or orbiting objects in space. What type of mathematics helps them determine their trajectories? Thanks!- danielandpenn

Stargazing Help My telescope fell and now it won't focus
It fell halfway over, denting my metal garbage can lid. The finderscope came off but I could easily reattach it. I can see light and blur now...what should I do?? I don't want to just open it up without knowing what I'm looking for. Thank you!- danielandpenn

High School Help with Jupiter and Saturn please
Hi. Thanks for your help. I have a Bushnell Mak Cassegrain 100mm telescope. I can focus Saturn in pretty clearly, except that I can't find the right eyepiece that would allow me to view the rings to any degree. I can see a moon around it. Also, when I focus in on Jupiter, it looks smaller...- danielandpenn
