Studying Funding PhD Research: Personal Experiences
How does one fund their PhD research? Do you live very poor? I want to study to be a physicist but I kind of a have a time frame to make some money within 4-5 years (I'm currently doing undergraduate studies). How does it all work? I just want insight from personal experiences. Thanks- Daveyzombie

What are robots doing looking at the forums?
So I was looking through who is active at the moment on the forum and came across this: Robot: Google AdSense I was curious what a robot could be doing looking into "Best Physics book"--I think that was the post it was "looking" at. Anyone have any ideas? haha- Daveyzombie

High School How could we "reactivate" Mars' magnetic field?
My understanding of a Dyson sphere is a planet-like structure right? If there is something that massive in space would that disrupt gravitational fields between planets? Wouldn't that "eff" up everything? haha I like the large astronomical object idea, but I feel like that might take a long...- Daveyzombie

High School How could we "reactivate" Mars' magnetic field?
When I think about liquefying the metal core, shouldn't we just work on strengthening its atmosphere and moving life to Mars? Then we would heat it's exterior and possibly drop the temperature of its core when oceans are created. Surely the change of the ice from the the poles back to all over...- Daveyzombie

Undergrad Approach to mathematics (tips?)
Thanks for all your input. I'll trying a new approach to learning something. I saw a video on youtube about the Feynman method and I've been trying that out too.- Daveyzombie

Undergrad Approach to mathematics (tips?)
I feel like my approach to mathematics is strange, sometimes I just think about memorizing something when I see something new. I feel like memorizing something is the fastest way to learn because once you memorize it the logic seems to reveal itself. I'm trying to learn trigonometric...- Daveyzombie

Programs How did you choose your STEM major?
Your answer was helpful. I feel like money money kind of gets in the way of my passion, but maybe that is how it is. I feel like I'm more passionate about learning about how to use mathematics to explain the things around me and I would actually like to use it to build something. I have been...- Daveyzombie

Programs How did you choose your STEM major?
T That makes a lot of sense. I'm sure though I'm reading some books about physics I might not neccesarily want to do physics. Well I feel passionate about it but I really want to learn the math more than anything because then I feel like I could do anything. Taking the classes will give me a...- Daveyzombie

Programs How did you choose your STEM major?
I like mainly math and physics. But mainly studying physics and math for the usefulness it has with physics. They're the studies that amaze me the most.- Daveyzombie
