Undergrad Will This Perfectly Balanced Rocket Fly Upward or Bounce Continuously?

Cool, so it wouldn't fall down. I thought that was the case but unfortunately that is the harder one to simulate.

Undergrad Will This Perfectly Balanced Rocket Fly Upward or Bounce Continuously?

Basically if you shot a rocket at a 45 degree angle would it fly up then fall down due to gravity (accelerating downwards even though there is no change in engine thrust)

Undergrad Will This Perfectly Balanced Rocket Fly Upward or Bounce Continuously?

I have a question about rockets. Consider a rocket, with a perfect dynamic fulcrum and center of balance (lets say its a magic rocket ship maybe.) Anyway, this rocket never rotates in flight, and has continuous and stable thrust through the flight. Would it continually bounce up and down or...

Okay, it makes more sense now. Thanks.

High School Jet vs. Hovercraft - the momentum dillemna

Yes parrallel is what I meant. I think I am somewhat clearer but do not understand it fully. I found about 10 links from google, half of them were expensive books you had to pay for, the other 10 links were either in gibberish (math-speak), or only covered stability, ignoring talk about...

High School Jet vs. Hovercraft - the momentum dillemna

Can't an aircraft which is perpindicular to the ground use only yaw and still turn?

High School Jet vs. Hovercraft - the momentum dillemna

Hi, and thanks for the replies. But I do not think this is the case. The Jet's traveling speed should make no difference. Either way the force needed would be proportional to the speed, so if jets work with the same principles as hovercrafts you would see planes with rotation independent of...

High School Jet vs. Hovercraft - the momentum dillemna

Well I was wonderin about this for quite a while. Why does a jet airplane not move about like a hovercraft? You know how your sittin in that seat, of a hovercraft, and once your goin, you have to wait several seconds for the momentum to get changed by the force - ie your movin 90 degrees one way...
