Other Transitioning from Physics to Bio-mechanical Engineering
I know this isn't "EngineeringForums" but I'm curious if anyone has any experience with taking a physics undergrad degree and then studying engineering for their masters. I have a couple engineering friends and the math is basically the same so far, though is there anything I should know? Study...- Felix Gonzales

Other Should I Drop Physics? Advice & Ideas
Oh yes! I constantly find myself asking questions about what I'm learning, either asking "what if..." style questions or questioning the material itself, and I am driven to find the answers. Most of the time, because of the level of my schooling, it's questions that have already been answered...- Felix Gonzales

Other Should I Drop Physics? Advice & Ideas
I love physics. Well, modern physics mostly, still physics though. It's amazing seeing how much there is we don't know and how we got to understand what we do know today. I think the concepts are crazy, cool and fun. If I didn't know better, I'd say modern physics truly sounds like pure fiction...- Felix Gonzales

I don't understand the derivation process here, help?
Homework Statement I understand the derivation it showed that included the sin (15.7 in the image) I just don't understand the following (15.8 in the image). Does "t" get pulled out of the equation? If so what do we derive for then? Does it become 0? If so, it would remain 0 and sin(0) is just...- Felix Gonzales

Tattoos & Physics: Will Visible Ink Affect My Career?
I couldn't find an appropriate area for this so I figured general was my best bet. My question, to be more specific than my header, is will visible tattoos affect me if I choose to pursue some type of research job in physics? I love tattoos and Physics but I don't want to ruin my chances of my...- Felix Gonzales

Schools What is best for me, applied physics or pure physics?
I compared them and the only differences are I have to take matrix algebra and a more in depth course in quantum and a couple other physics courses. Though it seems my degree, pure physics, is more of a well rounded type of degree in physics which I don't know if I would benefit from. Thanks...- Felix Gonzales

Schools What is best for me, applied physics or pure physics?
I'm currently finishing up my second year in college and I'm expected to graduate on time (in two years) and I'm majoring in pure physics. I don't really fully understand the difference between applied physics and pure physics because anytime I look into it online there's 10 different answers...- Felix Gonzales
