Dark matter build up near Black holes, thoughts?

Im quite sure any dark matter that fell into a black hole would stay inside, but may be released if two black holes partially collide. Im also quite sure that slow moving dark matter would orbit a black hole, albeit at high speeds if there is no speed loss via friction...swirling like hornets...

Can we create life from scratch?

Simple Artificial Cell Created From Scratch To Study Cell Complexity http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/05/080515171023.htm Similar efforts have been made by numerous other research teams and we are rapidly acquiring the tools to build a complete cell from scratch. FIRST...

Dark matter build up near Black holes, thoughts?

Dark matter build up near or inside Black holes, thoughts ? I can see it making a real mess of the motions and energies of normal matter in and around a black hole or other very dense body that confines dark matter to a small adjacent region. Unslowed by frictional forces...think angry...

Calculating gravity with high precision ?

I am reading and thinking...on topic ,do carry on ! Before solving 'Dark matter ?' ...(which i have some issues with) i wanted to clarify how mass and gravity is calculated. I have yet to see 'full fat' gravity maths and GR maths applied to galactic rotation in a truly convincing manner...

    Movies for hardcore sci-fi geeks

Im Sure you've all seen Star wars, Alien, Terminator & predator and you must be dead if you've not seen Bladeruuner ? so I've not included these in the lists. What i have done is split the list in three sections with the 'quality stuff ' at the top. Be assured Everything in the top list has...

Can a Planet Collect Enough Mass to Become a Black Hole?

ref can 'planet' become black hole? yes...but its not easy ( or perhaps even possible ) if you are in a big hurry timewise I am quite sure there are 1000's of black holes in the universe right now that where once planets BUT you can be almost 100% certain that they became black holes after...

    Is the universe really expanding?

I find it hard to believe that the universe should go to the bother of existing at all, lol Mainstream science tends to go for the 'model that makes most sense out of most things' When the model gets badly broken it gets changed. When the main model becomes unusable for certain things then we...

Are We Discovering New Stars in the Observable Universe?

was reading up on this the other day and found this useful Comoving distance http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comoving_distance Hubble volume http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubble_volume "The Real Universe" --'Is 250 Times Bigger than the Visible Hubble Volume'...

How Does the Oberth Effect Work?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oberth_effect Im no expert but the jist of it that i got was that you would 'ideally' be leaving your fast moving rocket exhaust stationary at the bottom of a gravity well...so there is no free lunch but there is a perfect time and place to 'burn'

Calculating gravity with high precision ?

TumblingDice your hired ! Its very easy to turn a yes/no + caveat into a GUT post...i get some of what WannabeNewton is referring too, though probably not enough. side note, my mission is to try and calculate the gravity in a galaxy, ref dark matter and 'actual' star/mass positions...

Calculating gravity with high precision ?

I do get the vast bulk of mainstream science but i do admit i do struggle a bit with GR What to count When to count it and how to count it My question in the OP is primarily 'what to count' when wanting to calculate gravity to high precision Apologies if my question wasn't as...

Calculating gravity with high precision ?

ref But I just gotta' say, the understanding level that the questions were posed from and perhaps wanting to learn if E=mc^2 translates into a greater gravitational influenceTumblingDice, you get me and my question, thanks.as in " if i take a blowtorch to a brick and then place that brick on my...

    What will replace silicon chips?

ref What will replace silicon chips? My guess is this. http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/020/2/c/dandelion_snowglobe_II_by_mondspeer.jpg 1) A very stable crystal scaffolding that is porous 2) Those holes are filled with large 'semi biological type' molecules that act as simple or...
