Can a monkey outrun a bullet and still save her litter?
Dave, I did include this: "You must get access to the quarter and get it off of the plate with ONLY your finger without putting your finger into the water." Maybe the wording is a bit ambiguous but I meant that accessing - basically touching the quarter at all - can only be done with the...- gtatix

Your idea is the way I was taught. It is tough because it has to be thin but tough.- gtatix

Undergrad Did the Big Bang create the most massive black hole in the universe?
This may help - but you will likely have to dig. I would think that once you start digging you will love what you find. This "guy" seems to be one of the most down-to-earth scientists around. He has great ways of making people understand things that may otherwise be too complex or beyond...- gtatix

Can a monkey outrun a bullet and still save her litter?
Awe inspiring physics/bar trick: There are a number of ways this could be asked, but the principle is the same. I traded this puzzle/answer for the wine bottle/cork puzzle many years ago! This is a practical puzzle that can be performed for visual effect - much the same as the wine bottle...- gtatix

Can a monkey outrun a bullet and still save her litter?
Jimmy, I don't know if I could disprove this but I would suggest that this may not force the cork to exit. Lets add that you want the cork out now - within 5 minutes - and we don't have any "exotic" liquid gasses or such around! I'm trying to respond without alluding to your answer thus...- gtatix

Can a monkey outrun a bullet and still save her litter?
Methodical solution required: You have a thick glass wine bottle that is empty. You have the original cork that was in the bottle. The cork is completely intact and there are no cracks or holes in the bottle - this is NOT a trick question. Someone forces the cork - and it is very hard...- gtatix

Graduate Formula and Methodology Request re: Shannon, Thorp et al.
So, when would you like to get started I believe - I'd have to reread it - that they did all the tests and shots to verify the software and device. Really, there are a number of things that can change any result from spin to spin and more likely over a short time. Oil on a croupier's... -

Graduate Formula and Methodology Request re: Shannon, Thorp et al.
The formulae/formulas in my original post are not mine. I did not apply the numbers or the formulae. IF they are correct, that is great. Does anyone know - first - if they look correct for determining the fall-off point from the launch track and the fall formula down the side of the assembly... -

Graduate Formula and Methodology Request re: Shannon, Thorp et al.
Well, there was a very intelligent man involved - Prof Claude Shannon. I have thought about this for quite some time. The formulae used would have started out with the basics. If anyone can help - I have forgotten most of my physics whereas I got excellent marks in high school - I would like... -

Graduate Formula and Methodology Request re: Shannon, Thorp et al.
There may be no application for chaos here but you are wrong about predicting AN outcome that would be acceptable and profitable. You need to do some research on the people I mentioned in the beginning. This HAS been done and gave a measured - scientifically - result that gave the players... -

Graduate Formula and Methodology Request re: Shannon, Thorp et al.
I have done a fair bit of research and reading on the subject I am asking about. There is not much - in fact virtually no - detailed information anywhere on the internet about this. If you have heard of Claude Shannon, Edward O Thorp, Norman Packard, Doyne Farmer and Thomas Bass, then you...
