Undergrad Definite integration by parts with sub
hello, i am stuck on how to do this I know how to do it for an indefinite integral, but it gets confusing for a definite integral. from my knowledge, when doing a definite integral, you have to change the upper and lower limit. but when it comes to integration by parts for a definite integral... -

How do I formulate and find constants for a bounded exponential equation?
if i have a set of data, where as time increases, so does y, but is bounded by a number say y=c, how do i formulate my equation? how do i find the constants? i have y=c-a-x*b this is basically a transformation of y=b*ax+c- h00zah

Undergrad Finding a,b,c for Gaussian Model: A Puzzling Task
If given a set of data points, how do I find a,b,c to input into a gaussian model? y = a exp (-(x-c) / b)2 I know it's centered at x=c Intersects at (0,a), but if the data doesn't have a "0", how do you find it? Also, a controls the height, but in what way? and b controls the spread, but in...- h00zah

High School How Do You Solve Absolute Value Inequalities with Double Variables?
I know that when |x| < a it must be -a < x < a, but when |x| "is less than or equal to" a, how do you represent both rules at once? this is not h.w, we're doing this in class and we haven't been shown how to do this and there are no examples in my text.- h00zah

Should i still do math if i am not the next Euler?
The head of my maths department actually entered into university looking to get a degree in English, but discovered his passion for math and eventually became very good at it. What I mean is, he was by no means the next Euler or else he would have discovered math much sooner, but he found...- h00zah

Undergrad Do Most Math Graduates Have Strong Knowledge in All Fields?
with regards to my topic, i mean that in a sense that the subject is not some sort of prodigy/genius, but an average human being with a strong interest in mathematics who wants to pursue a career in math. do most people who graduate with a math degree have a strong knowledge in all math fields...- h00zah

Undergrad Calculus II and Beyond: How Much Harder?
My calc teacher in Highschool mentioned a book with a lot of calculus problems in it with the solutions, any idea what book this might be? It had like 1,000 problems. Wasn't so much a textbook as it was a problem/solution book. -

Undergrad Calculus II and Beyond: How Much Harder?
when going into university and completing first year calculus, how much harder is the proceeding levels of calculus, as in, are the concepts and methods just as hard to understand, or is it the same as calculus I all over again as if you have never seen calculus before? -

What is the solution for -42.2=-10.999x+-4.9x^2?
-42.2=-10.999x+-4.9x^2 add 42.2 to both sides 0 = -4.9x2 - 10.999x + 42.2 then use the quadratic equation to solve for x if that's what you're looking for.- h00zah

High School Introductory books with lots of problems
Are there any good books that focus on teaching the subject then supplying many problems? For trig, algebra, geometry and calculus at high school (gr 12) -> first year university levels. Basically refresher books that will help bridge the gap nicely for going from high school to university.- h00zah

Math Math or Physics? Advice for 19-Year-Old Pursuing Career
I'm sorry, I know it's kind of a broad question, and I am expecting broad answers. To prepare myself for next year, what should I focus on (brush up on) to become an Engineer, Computer Science, in both physics and mathematics. I think that narrowed my question :]- h00zah

Math Math or Physics? Advice for 19-Year-Old Pursuing Career
I know there are a few other threads here regarding my question, but not specifically the one I have in mind. I am 19 and am currently taking the year off school and am on my own. I have a lot of free time on my hand, and would like to pursue a career that is financially rewarding, to an extent...- h00zah
